Want to Use Your VA Benefits at ICOM?
Veteran Services are part of the Office of the Registrar. We are committed to providing the best possible service to the veterans and their dependents who attend the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine. We are grateful to you and your family members for your service to our country, and ICOM is dedicated to providing the services you need to successfully navigate the transition through accessing your benefits.
To check on eligibility for benefits, visit www.va.gov/education, or call the VA at (888) 442-4551.
To receive education benefits, you must be “certified.” To start this process, submit your application for benefits electronically to the VA by visiting www.gibill.va.gov. Click on the “Apply Online” button. Once you have applied, you will receive a “Certificate of Eligibility.” Once you have received this certificate, we can formally start the process of certifying you for your educational benefits.
To take further steps to utilize those benefits, or if you have other questions, contact ICOM Registrar Denyce Drinkall to begin the process of certification at ICOM. We are at YOUR service!
ICOM utilizes a Student Information System (SIS) called SONIS to enter and maintain student records and educational information. Students can see certain information from this system in the SONIS Student Portal. New students will receive an email to their ICOM student email address that provides guidance on how to login to the portal. Students who are having issues with their PIN to access the portal should contact ICOM’s Registrar for assistance.
Requesting Official Transcripts
Official transcripts must be requested through Parchment. First time users must create an account through Parchment to request official transcripts. Unofficial transcripts may be printed through SONIS.
