The Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine (ICOM) recently broke ground on its second parking lot, which will be located just north of the school’s campus in Meridian.
ICOM will welcome its second class of students to campus, along with its returning inaugural class, on Monday, Aug. 5, for the start of the new academic year — bringing the school’s total number of students to 324.
The new parking lot, located on the corner of East Central Drive and Locust Grove, will add approximately 190 parking spaces for ICOM, including six accessible parking spaces and bicycle racks. Built on 2.34 acres, the lot will have a single entrance and a crosswalk, both on East Central Drive. The parking lot will also have a state-of-the-art camera security system, and be home to an 1,800-square-foot maintenance building.
ICOM is partnering with Boise-based ESI Construction, the contracting and construction management firm that built the school, on this $1.1M project. It is estimated to be completed by late August.
