Steve Durham joined the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine in July of 2019 as a Campus Security Officer.
Steve has had a career in law enforcement that spans over 20 years. During his time as a police officer, he worked his way up from a reserve police officer, to his highest rank of Sergeant, before his eventual retirement. He has worked on both the East Coast and West Coast, and his most recent agency was the Citrus Heights Police Department, located just outside of Sacramento, CA.
Steve has worked in both patrol and administration, also serving as a Field Training Officer / Corporal, and as a member of his agency's SWAT Team, as a Hostage /Crisis Negotiator. He was also an instructor for Tactical Communications for his department, and is most proud of his community outreach during his tenure.
Steve was born and raised primarily on the East Coast, but has been coming to Boise since he was a small boy. His father was born and raised in Idaho, and Steve has several family members that still reside here, including his aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also attended Boise State University, but unfortunately didn't graduate from there, although he still considers himself a Bronco.
Steve and his wife Tammie enjoy traveling, and their two dogs. They have five children and five grandchildren between them, which keeps them busy most of the time. Steve considers himself a real "people" person, and is always ready to just listen, and more than willing to help someone out.
