Rita Getz, PhD, FNAOME
Rita Getz earned her PhD in Anatomy from Indiana University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She has been involved in osteopathic medical education for 17 years. Prior to her role as the Senior Associate Dean for Learner Outcomes and Assessment at the proposed Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine, she was an Associate Professor of Anatomy for the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine/Midwestern University (CCOM/MWU) in Downers Grove, Illinois and served for nine years as the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. During her tenure at CCOM/MWU, Dr. Getz successfully advised more than 1600 medical students during the residency application and match process. She is an invited speaker at the national level on this topic. Dr. Getz also participates on several committees for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. She is a Fellow in the National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators and chairs the Fellow Selection Committee. Dr. Getz brings extensive experience in the accreditation process.
