Patrick J. Kenney, DO, MA, FACS

Patrick J. Kenney, DO, MA, FACS, is a native of Florida but was raised in a Navy family in San Diego, CA. He received his Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Sonoma State University and his Master’s degree in synthetic organic chemistry at San Diego State University. He attended medical school at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ, and graduated in 2001.

Part of his surgical training was obtained in the US Army, first at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX, and then at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI.

After leaving the Army in 2004 with 16 years of service, Dr. Kenney resumed his surgical training at Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Medical Center, the largest post-graduate training center in the US. He then completed his training in General Surgery at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, CA.

After completing his residency, Dr. Kenney was in private practice for 8 years before relocating to Rapid City, South Dakota. Dr. Kenney’s extensive surgical training includes Robotic surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery, surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, hernia surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction and breast surgery.

Dr. Kenney is currently the Robotic Surgery Program Director, and the Breast Care Center Director at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
