David V. Pizzimenti, DO, FACOI
David Pizzimenti, DO, FACOI, joined ICOM in 2019 as an Assistant Regional Dean. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is an active member of the medical staff of Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS. Dr. Pizzimenti currently serves as Chair of Graduate Medical Education and is the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director. Prior to working at Magnolia Regional Health Center, he served in the National Health Service Corp., where he provided care to patients in one of the nations most underserved rural areas.
Dr. Pizzimenti obtained his medical degree from Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine, Fort Lauderdale, Florida and completed his Internal Medicine Residency training at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL.
After founding the Internal Medicine Residency Program and Cardiology Fellowship programs at Magnolia Regional Health Center, he has seen them mature into excellent training programs that have a greater than 90% first time pass rate on their national board exams. He also led the transition of the IM program from AOA to ACGME accreditation in September of 2015. This was the first osteopathic program in the country to receive ACGME and osteopathic recognition after the announcement of the merger.
He was inducted into the College of Fellows of the American College of Osteopathic Internists in 2010 and is a current member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Internists. In September 2015, Dr P received the prestigious ACOI “National Teacher of the Year" award.
