Idaho’s first medical school on the way

Plans are underway to start the state’s first medical school, the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine on Idaho State University’s Meridian campus.The private, for-profit college is supported by Gov. Butch Otter and approved by the Idaho State Board of Education. Officials say private investors will pay $110 million to $125million to start the college, which expects to have the capacity for up to 150 students a year starting in 2018.
