As the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, Dr. Lund will assist Dr. Hasty in developing the clinical clerkship component of student training. In addition, Dr. Lund will assist in the development of new graduate medical education programs in ICOM's target region.

Dr. Lund completed his undergraduate training at the Florida State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at Ft. Worth/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine where he received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree. This was followed by a Pediatric Residency, Neonatology Fellowship and extra year of training/research in developmental respiratory muscle physiology. His first post-training position was in the departments of Pediatrics (Division of Neonatology) and Physiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, teaching, caring for babies in the Newborn ICU and doing research. This was followed by more than a decade of clinical practice of Neonatology. He was in the leadership team that developed not only a large regional practice, but eventually forming a nation group, MAGELLA Healthcare. MAGELLA included Neonatologists, High Risk Obstetricians, Developmental Pediatricians and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners. During this period of time he developed a referral fax system to keep parents and providers in other hospitals up-to-date on their baby’s progress, a national website to support parents of babies in the Newborn ICU and his first Electronic Heath Record which was implemented in 1988. MAGELLA merged with what is now MEDNAX, a larger national group and he joined the administration in the Information Technology, then Research and Education departments. In this capacity he was the architect of his second Electronic Health Record, managed one of the largest Newborn ICU data-warehouses, initiated one of the first medical podcasts and supported various research projects. While at MEDNAX he attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and received a Masters in Heath Informatics focusing on the interface between technology and humans. Following, his tenure at MEDNAX, he thought he was going to retire, but came out of retirement to complete a Residency in Pediatric Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. He soon joined the Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine. While at Touro he was initially faculty, then Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and finally Senior Associate Dean. In 2016, he completed Seth Godin’s altMBA program prior to joining the ICOM team.

Dr. Lund is a member and has held national office in a number of organizations. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, American Board of Pediatrics-Sub Board of Neonatal Perinatal Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. He is married to the woman he met in 8th grade and they have 4 children and 9 grandchildren.
