Brian Atkinson serves as Director of Information Technology at Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine (proposed).
Prior to coming to ICOM, Mr. Atkinson spent 10 years at Idaho State University working in several technology roles. Starting as a Media Equipment Specialist on ISU’s main campus in Pocatello, he soon moved to an expanded role as the University’s first Classroom Design Engineer. In 2012, Mr. Atkinson graduated from Full Sail University and was the salutatorian of his class. That same year, he had an opportunity to move to the ISU Meridian campus where he would continue his role in classroom design and also work as an IT Support Technician. This opportunity lead to him joining the design team for the new Treasure Valley Anatomy & Physiology Laboratories. Mr. Atkinson’s key role in that project was the design, purchase, installation, and support of technology systems in a “gold standard” facility.
Brian has also spent more than 27 years in the audio industry working as a live sound engineer - primarily for a cappella groups. He has travelled the world with professional singers and still enjoys the occasional opportunity to mix several award winning vocal groups. Brian is also a singer himself and can be heard in the Treasure Valley with the vocal jazz ensemble, Essential Jazz.
